vegan in BANGKOK

Living in Thailand has been a one of a kind (culinary) experience. I really enjoy being here and being surrounded by all these lovely and smiley faces. While living and working in Chiang Mai, I did manage to squeeze in some weekend trips to Bangkok to explore its fancy (and also not so fancy) vegan restaurants. I wasn’t disappointed! Veganism is finally getting more main stream attention and many people start to join the dots between health and a vegan lifestyle. No wonder vegan restaurants are popping up on every street corner!

Veganerie Concept

If you follow me on Instagram you know that this is probably my favourite place in town. I already did a full review here a few weeks ago and I cannot get over the amazingness of this place. Top of my list for sure!
35/2 Soi Methiniwet – BKK (BTS Phrom Phong)

Broccoli Revolution

Another more fancy and modern restaurant with amazing food. The charcoal burger is probably my favourite dish as is the aubergine salad. Absolute must try!
899 Sukhumvit Road – BKK (BTS Thong Lo)

Bonita Café and Social Club

Let me just say: Club Sandwich. THE BEST Club Sandwich. EVER. I bet you could give this to an omnivore and he wouldn’t even notice that it is vegan, seriously so good! The Katsu Curry and the Mini Pizza are also very good.
56/3 Pan Street – BKK (BTS Surasak) nb: will move in late September!

Chamlong Asoke Vegetarian Buffet

We only found this place because we were looking for a vegan restaurant around Chatuchak Market. The reviews on HappyCow seemed quite promising however finding the place wasn’t so easy. Just behind a totally demolished neighbourhood lies this amazing all vegan buffet which, I guess due to the location, is only visited by locals. If you want to enjoy local Thai food for less than 3 dollars this is your place. Amazeballs!
Near Chatuchak Market – For exact location check HappyCow

Tennen Toufu

This little place is also worth mentioning. They have a complete list of ingredients next to their menu, which makes it easy to find the vegan options. If you have trouble deciding on what to get (and you probably will!) the lovely staff is happy to assist you. But why not get everything on the menu, because it’s oh so good.
211 Chan 18/7 Road – BKK

Other places I went to include Loving Hut, KOKO and Kaodaeng but unfortunately I don’t have any pictures (yet). Places I plan on visiting on my next trip are: May Kaidee, Walee and Rasayana. So stay tuned for an update once I have more pictures and checked out the new places.

What are your favourite places in Bangkok?

Thanks a lot for your kind words! Another useful tip might be: ‘Gin jay’ which means ‘I eat vegetarian’ in Thai :) Enjoy your stay in Thailand! xxx
