The vegan ABC

A FOR ABUNDANCE
Veganism is a lifestyle full of abundance. Don’t be afraid to let all in! The fruits and veggies, the love towards other humans and animals and most of all towards yourself. Abundance is, unlike what most people think, a mindset.
Abundance is, in large part, an attitude. Sue Patton Thoele

B FOR BANANAS
Bananas are one of our number one staple foods. Sooooo yumm!

C FOR CARBS
Get those carbs in! Don’t be afraid, they’re not evil. Read The Low-Carb Fraud or The Starch Solution to convince yourself.

C FOR CRUELTY
There’s no such thing as humane slaughter.

G FOR GREENS
Don’t forget your greens to get all your minerals in.

H FOR HEALTH
Are you already feeling the difference? A vegan whole food diet will make you thrive and you’ll be in the best health condition and shape you ever were.

I FOR IRON
Do vegans lack iron? Not necessarily. Omnivores are as prone to iron deficiency as vegans are.

J FOR JUNK
There’s tons of vegan junk food out there, but don’t let it fool you! Go for the unprocessed whole foods. But nothing against a treat here and there.

K FOR KALE
Full of vitamins and fiber, kale had its revival in the last few years. Mostly used in traditional dishes, kale was recently reintroduced as the wonder greens to put in smoothies and juices.

L FOR LABELS
Be prepared to read labels! The less packaged food you buy the less labels you have to read. One-ingredient foods don’t need labels, it’s as easy as that.

M FOR MONOMEALS
Monomealing is basically eating only one ingredient as a meal. This can be anything from 10 bananas to 6 mangoes or 2 pounds of grapes. So you only eat one type of food until you are satisfied. One benefit of monomealing is that is easy on the stomach and easily digested.

N FOR NICE CREAM
Too many ripe bananas to handle? Easy! Peel them and put them in the freezer. Once frozen you can use them to make nice cream in your food processor.

O FOR ORGANIC
Try to buy organic food as much as possible. We don’t want the nasty pesticides and chemicals in our body.

P FOR PROTEIN
This seems to be a highly discussed topic amongst omnivores. Everyone seems to be so concerned about our protein intake. Don’t be fooled by the media and the industry! Praising protein as the non plus ultra source of energy is their way of rising their sales in animal products, claiming they, and only they, have highest quality protein. Did you know that 100gr of broccoli has more protein than 100gr of beef steak? Plants have all the protein you need (and you might not need as much protein as you think you do!). More on this topic coming soon.

Q FOR QUALITY
Make sure you get only high quality, ripe and preferably organic produce. Don’t lower your sights when it comes to the foods you put in your body.

R FOR RESPECT
Respect yourself, respect others, respect animals and respect the planet. Go vegan!

S FOR SLEEP
It is so important to get a long and good quality night sleep, it will make all the difference, I promise!

T FOR TREATS
Don’t forget to treat yourself now and then.

U FOR UNITED
We are one big family spread throughout the whole world.

V FOR VITAMIN B12
You might need to get regular B12 check ups (even if you are an omnivore!!). There’s tons of vegan B12 supplements out there, we use this one.

W FOR WORKOUT
Get your heart pumping daily. Even if it’s only 30 minutes per day.

W FOR WATER
Make sure you stay hydrated throughout the day.

X FOR XENOPHOBIA
Stop the violence and go vegan! Today’s world has so many ‘Isms’ and phobias, so much hatred, racism, speciesism, sexism and homophobia which are all centred around violence, anger, miscommunication, intolerance, misunderstanding, negative experiences, disrespect, jealousy and greed. But one thing is for sure, not one single individual who participates in any of these movements is truly a vegan.

Y FOR YEAST
Nutritional yeast was heaven sent, there’s no doubt about it.

Z FOR ZOODLES
Zoodles are a fun way to get more veggies in, especially for kids. Mix zucchini noodles with corn spaghetti, add sauce, voilà! Get your spiralizer here.

We hope this was fun for you guys !
